- The Amy Otteman Memorial Classic is a 15-year tradition in the Mount Pleasant (Mich.) community. The annual golf outing, which makes its final run in 2009, has raised more than $160K benefiting educational initiatives for local nurses and nurses in training. Named for the late Amy Otteman, a Mount Pleasant High School graduate who worked as an oncology nurse at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, the annual golf outing attracts more than 50 foursomes and features central Michigan's largest auction of sports and entertainment memorabilia.
