In spring 2006, a group of students in RPL 430: Recreation Programming designated the Amy Otteman Memorial Classic as its charity of choice, raising funds to support the outing and the scholarship fund. An article regarding the students' event appeared in the March 27, 2006, issue of Central Michigan Life.
